The Quartet Gigli owes its name to the memory of the famous tenor Beniamino Gigli, of one the best Italian Tenors ever. All the musicians involved come from the best international chamber music and orchestra formations.

MARCO ROGLIANO
The Violin is played by Marco Rogliano, one of the most appreciated violinists of his generation, with an affinity for the classical and contemporary repertoire. Many different composers wrote for him, e.g. S. Sciarrino, A. Guarnieri, D. Nicolau, C.DePirro, C.Galante, M. Dall' Ongaro, F. Luque, D. Buccino, G.D'Angiolini. He has won many international awards, e.g. V. Bucchi in Rome, the 47th International ARD competition in Munich, and the East and West Artists Internal Selection in New York (2002). He played in important concert halls, like Ciajkovskij Hall in Moscow, the Carnegie Hall or the Scala di Milano, the Tokyo Casals Hall, etc. and with important orchestras. He had his Debut as soloist in 1989, when he played the Sibelius Violin Concert in Sweden with the Helsingborg Symphony orchestra, directed by Ari Rasilainen. He recorded many CDs as the complete Capricci of Paganini and has won many awards thanks to it. He plays a fine instrument of Nicola Bergonzi (Cremona,1790) trusted from the Maggini Foundation of Langenthal in Switzerland.

JUDITH HAMZA
She plays the violin as well. She has won many prestigious awards. Since 1990, she plays as first violin in the Orchestra of San Carlo, in Friuli Venezia Giulia's Symphony Orchestra of Udine. Moreover, she performed as soloist with the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese and with the Philharmonics of Budapest at the Ara Coeli Festival in Rome. For more than 20 years she has been a member of the chamber orchestra I Solisti Aquilani, where she climbed up in 1999 to the position of concertmaster. With the chamber orchestra she played all over the world. She performed many times with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra under Reiner Honeck, together with other famous musicians. Her recordings for radio and television vary from baroque to contemporary music. She is often invited as panel to international music competitions and she is an impressive teacher of violin.

LUCA SANZO
He studied with Bruno Giuranna. He has played in the most important concert halls of the world. His repertoire varies from baroque to contemporary music. He is a member of the group FREON, specialised in the music of the 20th Century and he is a founding member of the Michelangelo Piano Quartet. Luca Sanzo has published a remake of Campagnoli’s 41 Capricci for violin, edited by Ricordi (It recorded many new opuses, e.g. Violasola of Goffredo Petrassi). In 2004 he gave his Debut at the Stuttgart State Opera, at the New Concert Forum Hall as Viola soloist in the opera Load the Irish from Lucia Ronchetti. He recorded many CDs for important labels. He plays a Viola of Pietro Gaggini, ex-Luciano Vicari.

SABINE KRAMS
She studied with Professor Chr. Henkel in Freiburg. From 1985 on she gained a scholarship from the DAAD with Professor Janos Starker, USA, where she became also his personal assistant and from 1987 to 1990 with Professor Fr. J. Sellheim in Hanover. Apart from several awards as the Jugend Musiker, she won in 1983 the Domnick-Cello-Competition. Awards followed in 1984 with the Gedok Competition as well as with the cello competition of the culture area at the Federal Association of the German Industry. She is deputy Solo cellist at the Frankfurt Opera House and Museum Orchestra, and assistant lecturer at the conservatory of Frankfurt. In addiction, she is first Cello soloist in the German Chamber Orchestra. She plays as solist and is also a member of the National and International Chamber Music. She has recorded several CDs with Dabringhaus, Grimm, and Claves and she has also broadcasted recordings with the West German and the Hessian broadcasting companies. She is member of the Grüneburg Trio and of the Ensemble Concertant Frankfurt. She plays a Fabio Piagentini violoncello.
